Come and Try days
To help budding firies prepare to be in peak physical condition, the NTFRS is holding ‘Come and Try’ days in Darwin and Alice Springs, where people can get a feel for the Physical Aptitude Test (PAT), which is part of the recruitment process:
Darwin – Saturday 28 June at Berrimah Fire Station, registrations are essential, reserve your slot.
Alice Springs – Saturday 12 July at St Philips College, registrations are essential, reserve your slot.

As a firefighter you will be at the forefront of serving and protecting the Northern Territory community, whether it be:
- Fighting fires to protect lives and property
- Responding to emergency incident, such as motor vehicle accidents, rescues and other emergencies
- Community education and preparedness
- Undertaking fire mitigation and prevention strategies
- Inspecting building compliance and fire safety
As part of the NT Fire and Emergency Services the NTFRS will work closely with other emergency services personnel.
